The recipe is based upon an original beer made by Whitakers of Halifax in 1937.
A smooth well balanced traditional ruby bitter. Five different malts including crystal and amber create a rich toffee/cherry flavour. Earthy Fuggles and Goldings hops combine in a smooth English character with hints of kiwifruit and toffee.

A traditional rich amber English bitter. It’s all about the balance. Maris Otter malt is combined with Amber, Crystal and Torrefied Wheat to form a rich, biscuit backbone for the hops to sit. Robust peppery and grapefruit bitterness is tempered with a hint of tropical fruit and sweet orange with soft fruit yeast esters. A modern take on a heritage beer style we should be proud of.
